Why it matters for Nigeria and Africa

Uranium fuels nuclear power. Niger and Namibia are among the world’s significant producers, so the price matters for African exporters as well as for countries planning new reactors.

Over the past year the price has risen by 17.5%, from 58.95 on 1 Jul 2025 to 69.23 US dollars per pound. Its 52-week high was 71.30 on 1 Feb 2026.
