Why it matters for Nigeria and Africa

Asia is the largest LNG market. The gap between Asian and European prices decides where flexible cargoes, including Nigerian LNG, are sent.

Over the past year the price has risen by 59.5%, from 12.26 on 1 Jul 2025 to 19.56 US dollars per MMBtu. Its 52-week high was 20.81 on 1 Mar 2026.
