Wyoming Insight published its September 2026 economic report, detailing shifts in energy commodities and state revenue figures. WyomingNews.com reported that crude oil values climbed notably during the month.

The West Texas Intermediate monthly average for crude oil reached $97.31 per barrel. This figure represents a 16% increase compared to August and a 52.1% rise relative to September 2025. Active oil rigs averaged 14 in September, while conventional gas rigs stood at two.
