Key points

  • Huelva joins Madrid's PMH2 summit as an institutional partner.
  • The city council will host a stand and coordinate a municipal roundtable.
  • Moeve's 300 MW Onuba project anchors the region's green hydrogen ambitions.

What happened

The Ayuntamiento de Huelva is stepping up its efforts to establish the region as a primary green hydrogen hub, according to Europa Press. The council has secured an institutional partnership at the upcoming PMH2 sectoral summit in Madrid, organised by Ariema Energía y Medioambiente.

During the event, local officials plan to highlight territorial assets and outline how municipal authorities can actively participate in the developing hydrogen economy. The council will coordinate a specific roundtable discussion focusing on the responsibilities of local governments in production.

Why it matters

The promotional push aligns with industrial developments in the area, notably Moeve's 300 MW Onuba green hydrogen project. By positioning itself at the summit, the municipal administration aims to attract further investment and coordinate infrastructure development across the supply chain, bringing together administrations, companies and research centres.
