Zupt partners with Mitang Brasil for subsea services

Houston-based Zupt has entered into a framework agreement with Mitang Brasil to deliver subsea survey and positioning services.

By the CEII Desk, from reporting by Offshore Energy

Key points

  • Zupt signed a framework agreement with Brazil's Mitang Brasil to support subsea services.
  • The partnership became effective on September 30, according to Offshore Energy reporting.
  • Mitang will handle local commercial and operational support while Zupt retains technical oversight.

Partnership details

Houston-based subsea services provider Zupt has formed an alliance with Brazilian firm Mitang Brasil to support offshore operations in the country, according to Offshore Energy. Zupt operates as part of the Swiss technology group Rosenxt Group, following its acquisition through Rosenxt's United States business.

Under the framework agreement, which took effect on September 30, Mitang will act as Zupt's local partner in Brazil. The collaboration covers subsea survey, inertial metrology, remote metrology, and 3D modelling services.

Operational scope

Based in Rio de Janeiro, Mitang specialises in offshore survey and positioning. The company will manage local commercial coordination, operational support, logistics providers, and customs arrangements for upcoming projects.

Meanwhile, Zupt will maintain technical oversight of procedures, reports, and deliverables. Specific technologies, including C-PINS for remote metrology and 3D Recon for detailed structural modelling, will be stationed in-country to reduce international shipping requirements and increase project flexibility.
